How to Adjust Tundra Lights Down After a Lift

The Toyota Tundra pickup truck comes equipped with bright headlights to illuminate the road at night. The lights come set at a preferred height that matches the height of your truck. The lights should aim slightly downward to improve visibility on the road directly in front of you without blinding oncoming drivers. If you install a suspension or body lift to raise the height of your Tundra, you will need to manually adjust the headlights downward to compensate for the change in vehicle height.

Things You'll Need

  • #2 Phillips head screwdriver
  • Drive your Tundra to a flat area so that you can accurately measure the angle of the headlights. Park the truck and put the parking brake on.

  • Turn the headlights on and pop open the hood.

  • Locate the headlights on each side of the truck. The bulb housing unit is located inside the hood near the front of the vehicle.

  • Insert a #2 Phillips head screwdriver into the small hole on the top of the headlight housing.

  • Turn the screwdriver clockwise to lower the light and counter-clockwise to raise the light.
