Whether it’s that late-night dash to the parts store or wheeling your favorite trail after the sun goes down, driving at night ups the danger factor both on the road and off. Auxiliary lighting can brighten your experience off-road, but on road you are limited to how much candlepower you can project down the highway. Fortunately Truck-Lite has developed an easy way to increase your night vision without having to dress out your 4x4 with a carnival of lights.
Truck-Lite has a wide variety of headlights, taillights, and turn signals, many of which use LED (light-emitting diode) bulbs. LED technology has increased tremendously over the past decade. When compared to a traditional sealed-beam headlight, an LED headlamp actually uses a fraction of the amps, creates less heat, and in many cases is brighter.
One of Truck-Lite’s newest releases is the 7-inch-round complex reflector optics LED headlamp. Instead of a barrage of forward-facing LEDs, the complex reflector optics light uses a more precise set to reflect the emitted light off of the metalized internal reflectors. On vehicles such as our ’97 Jeep Wrangler the 7-inch headlamp upgrade drops in place of the stock headlight and plugs into the original H4 plug. Installation is as easy as it comes; our LED headlamp upgrade only took about 20 minutes.
