All the parts required for the install are included in the kit. Since our Duster trunk lid never came with a wing, the FPAP-designed templates (sold separately) made mounting the wing a cinch.
Its function is a matter of debate. But whether or not you feel the rear wing offered on the '70 Duster is functional, you have to admit it looks really cool on the trunk lid. though when it came from the factory, the Go-Wing was an often over-looked option, especially on the A-Bodies. It is the one piece of musclecar heritage the import crowd has made a debacle of by modifying the original design and mounting it on their so-called cars. It's been more than 30 years since the last car rolled off the Dodge/Plymouth assembly line with one of these wings attached, but thanks to First Place Auto Products (FPAP), the version that made its debut in 1970 is being offered to the public again. This brand-new, concours-quality kit features cast pedestals, the molded wing, and all attaching hardware. Even if your trunk lid was not equipped with a wing, First Place Auto Products has designed and manufactured templates to correctly locate and mount the wing to any '70-'76 Duster, Demon, or Dart Sport trunk lid.
The wing was installed in just a few hours. now we can remove it and paint all the parts and the trunk lid.
The material used to manufacture this reproduction wing is an ABS-based thermoplastic (a proprietary blend), which is molded in gray (as the originals were). It's not fiberglass. No original Mopar wings were ever made of fiberglass. This two-piece wing derives its rigid stability from the material itself, instead of a secondary support such as a metal rod or foam. All the specifications are correct: thickness, taper, length, height, crown, and weight of the wing are "as factory." The wing is painted in black primer, but can be supplied in correct, original, black suede Organsol-Black finish. The pedestals are made of hollow zinc die-cast construction, and the underside brackets are powdercoated black. Even though the Go-Wing was only offered in 1970, First Place Auto Products offers every part needed, including placement instructions, to correctly mount this spoiler on any '70-'76 A-Body, '70-'74 B-Body, or '70-'74 E-Body. What's more, it's licensed and endorsed by Ma Mopar as an official Mopar authorized reproduction product made in the good ol' U.S. of A.
