| Junior Monster Commissioned to prep an S2000 for the '04 International Auto Salon, we send our project roadster all over So. Cal. to get it dressed up like the famous Japanese S2K from Power House Amuse. Editor Bob tracks the copycat beastie and gives this progress report.
Last issue we explained how ZigZag Asia, importers and distributors of Power House Amuse here in the United States, wanted to use our art director's 2001 S2000 as a demo vehicle for the West Coast '04 International Auto Salon. The roadster would feature some soon-to-be-released Amuse products for the S2, including a set of Amuse-branded Bilstein coil-overs that Orsportz in Chatsworth, Calif., was kind enough to put in for us.
This month things were a tad more rushed. With the impending load-in date for the Auto Salon quickly approaching, we had only days to get the Comptech intake, Spoon header, and Amuse exhaust and front end squared away. To make matters worse the Spoon exhaust manifold that Marin Acura had ordered for us was coming directly from Japan, which took agonizingly long to get here. But miraculously it made it, with just one day to spare.
We asked our old friends at Autowave in Huntington Beach to install the exhaust for us and they happily obliged. Then when we finally received shipment on the Spoon piece, we had to act fast; Harv's Performance in Whittier saved our skins by booking us for the header install just hours before the show. Finally, we figured we wanted to get in on some of the makeover madness ourselves so we opted to install the easiest piece out of the three, the fiberglass Amuse front end.
