Upgrading The 6.4L Power Strokes Lift Pump And Injection System For Maximum Performance

In our May '10 issue, we upgraded Project Godzilla's ('08 Ford F-250) transmission and turbos. With durability and airflow taken care of, we're now going to amp up the fuel flow.   |   2008 Ford F250 Lift Pump Injection System Upgrade power Stroke With its stock turbos, the truck was virtually smoke-free. But after Elite Diesel Engineering upgraded the factory turbo setup, we felt the stock injection pump and injector nozzles could also be modified without making the rig too smoky and the EGT levels too extreme. Elite Diesel Engineering felt the stock lift pump and fuel filter system were strained by the high-powered engine tune anyway and that those components should be upgraded in order to keep up with the injection pump and nozzle modifications. This was the last stage of upgrades before the cab was scheduled to go back on, so we were plenty excited, as we felt the fueling modifications shown here would add at least another 100 hp in conjunction with the turbo upgrades.
