Car Computer Wiring & Installation - Car Computing, Part 2

0903 8l 03 Car Computer Part 2 Installed   |   0903 8l 03 Car Computer Part 2 Installed In the October '08 issue of 8-Lug, we discussed what a car computer is and where to find some of the components. Below is the process we went though to install the computer that was chosen. Before we started, the first thing we did was loosely mount everything. We mounted the screen to the cupholder and let the computer sit on the floorboard. Then we used the computer for a couple of weeks to get used to it and see if we needed to add or subtract anything from the system. After a very long road trip, it became apparent that we needed to do something else for a radio, as our computer kept having to shut down because of errors that occurred in our navigation program. The author says he personally zones out and gets deep into thought while driving on long road trips and having constant interruptions gets annoying. So, we opted to not install the Sirius Satellite radio adapter. We also found many quirks with our iGuidance and decided to look into another navigation program. Product Profile
