Product Spotlight: Papp Plastics Tool/Storage Boxes for Hummer H3T
Back when General Motors had a vested interest in Hummer, it awarded the “HUMMER H3 Storage Box” program to Papp Plastics. The challenge involved designing and producing an injection-molded bed box for the H3T sport/utility truck, and the end result was not one, but three different tool and storage boxes.
The first and smallest box is called the Carry Off and, as the name suggests, is portable for user convenience. The weather-resilient box measures 26 x 12 x 12 inches and uses a cam lever system for quick removal and attachment to and from the H3T’s bedrail.

The other two boxes -- Full Length and Full Width -- run at larger sizes of 55 x 17 x 12 inches and 50 x 19 x 17 inches, respectively. Both are accessible from the side; however, the Full Length incorporates a reverse-hinged lid while the Full Width utilizes side-by-side doors. Take a look at the images to compare.
According to Papp Plastics, the injection molding makes the boxes 30-percent-thicker than the industry standard. In addition to the durable design, all three are equipped with integral handles, ignition-codeable key locks, and 200-pound load capacities.
