Auto Insurance Claims: stolen truck payout, gap insurance, question pool

Question
I have had my truck stolen, Dealing with the insurance company, there are willing to pay for what the truck is worth, but not what i owe on the truck. Leaving me with a heavy bill to pay. All the insurance company say's is that I should have looked at my insurance closer before signing on the dotted line. Is this correct, Is there anyway around this?

Answer
Hello,

Your question went to the question pool and not to me.

If you bought the truck new they offer gap insurance which is really cheap. Gap is the difference between the actual cash value of the truck and what you owe.

I have seen gap offered on used cars as well.
