Auto Insurance Claims: Phantom Driver, uninsured motorist coverage, phantom driver

Question
I was involved in an auto accident where my car was totaled and I received injuries, I have Grange Ins. The accident was a result of another driver trying to take my lane on a busy interstate, I moved over on the shoulder to get out of his way and hit the concrete barrier wall. The driver didn't stop however a witness did and she is listed on the police report. I live in KY, am I entitled to my uninsured motorist coverage?

Answer
Hi Stephanie,

As long as the witness will provide a statement that they actually saw the other vehicle cut you off and force you off the road, then your uninsured motorist coverage should pay. However you should read the uninsured motorist section of your policy. In some cases it may state thet there has to be actual physical contact with an other vehicle.

I hope this helps
