Auto Insurance Claims: Repainting, auto body work, patch job

Question
my large boat was damaged by a commercial boat company.  I want a third of the boat repainted so the repaired portions will match and not look like a patch job.  The insurance company is only offering to paint the repaired sections, which will look like patch work over an 80' long hull.  Any ideas on how to explain this so I get the contigious areas painted at once?  Thanks

Answer
There are blending procedures done in auto body work to assure a good color match. While I am no expert in boat repairs, I am reasonably certain that the same thing can be done with the gel coat application so as to blend out any slight mis-match in the color. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of the repair, send certified mail to the at-fault party and tell them that you will be holding them legally responsible for the outcome of the repair, which was dictated by their insurance company. Send a copy of this to the liability carrier for the commercial boat company.
