Auto Insurance Claims: Medical Claims, coverage issue, party coverage

Question
My daughter was borrowing her dad's vehicle and was involved in a one car accident.  My daughter is covered under my insurance policy.  One of the passenger's of the vehicle was injured.  Will the medical claims be filed under her dad's insurance policy (the owner of the vehicle involved) or under mine (the policy in which the driver is covered)?

Thank you.

Answer
Insurance follows the vehicle.  Therefore primarily, the dad's policy will cover both your daughter and the passenger.  Seeing as it was a one vehicle accident, the type of coverage available for your daughter would be first party coverage such as PIP or Med-Pay, and the passenger would be entitled to recover damages under the liability portion or the PIP / Med-Pay.  Make sense?

If for some reason there is an exclusion or some other coverage issue with the dad's policy on the vehicle, then any other policy that would cover liability for your daughter would come into play secondarily.
