Auto Insurance Claims: demand letter, injury claim value

Question
I was involved in an accident where the other party was at fault. My vehicle was totaled. The other party has taken carry of everything except for my doctors bills.  I had sent them a demand letter for $3500 for doctor bills and pain and suffering, but they only offered me $1000.  For my doctor bills, pain and suffering, and the money that I had to borrow to make a down payment, I think that I should be given more than $1000.  I am trying to handle this without going to court.  Will you please advice me on what I should do next?  Thanks.

Answer
Hello Lisa,

It sounds like they want to get sued.

As long as your medical bills are legit, then you should be getting between 2 to 4 times the $3500 for pain and suffering. Have them make the offer in writing and state their reasons. Consider the eBook at www.autoaccidentclaims.com on the value of your medical claim.

You may want to consider hiring an attorney on a contingency fee over and above what you were offered.

If you got lowballed on the value of your vehicle, consider one of the eBooks at UClaim.com on Total Loss Auto, on sale around $12.00 and guaranteed.
