Auto Insurance Claims: changing your claim, false insurance claim, false information

Question
if you filed a claim with your insurance that was not correct,(or you lied) and now you want to tell the truth, what ramifications will you deal with from your insurance company? or should you just cancel the claim?

Answer
Hi Susan,

It would depend on the nature of the lie or incorrect statement. Filing a false insurance claim or providing intentionally false information in an insurance claim is a felony. You could call and cancell the claim but they may want to know why. But it is always best to tell the truth.

I hope this helps
