Auto Insurance Claims: 3rd party (lienholder) indemnificaiton, 3rd party lienholder

Question
I have been reading alot on this site that in Texas, a third party lienholder needs to be listed on the check that an insurance company issues.  What is the statute or code that backs up that claim?  Thanks

Answer
I don't know the statute or code, but it is a reasonable law and exists in most states. You could try findlaw.com. You could spend a lot of time researching this. You could call your local county law library clerk and see if they would look it up for you. You could also pay an attorney to do it. You may get the info free from a local accident attorney who may know without doing research. You could also call the lienholder and ask them if they know the statute.
