Auto Insurance Claims: minor fender bender, turn in claim?

i backed into another car in a parking lot. there was minor damage to the other vehicle while mine had none. the other driver is willing to not report the accident as long as i pay for ther repair. however i do not have a lot of money and would like an estimate. if it cost to much for me to repair can i then file a claim

I agree with you. Get an estimate if you can, or take the other drivers estimate and some photos and show them to a shop to see if the estimate looks in line. You may have to pay a shop owner to go to the other drivers location to inspect the car. Keep in mind that the other driver can have the car repaired at a shop of "their" choice.
