Auto Insurance Claims: Auto accident while working, car damage, own insurance

Question
Today I had an auto accident. I was going to the bank for my work. It is part of my regular duties. While driving I rear ended a vehicle and was cited for following too closely. My employer is covered by workers' comp and also general liability and property coverage. Do any of these coverages help me with my car damage since I was performing part of my job? My employer reimburses for mileage if we submit it.

Answer
Hi Camille,

No. Your employers insurance does not cover your car. It would be your own insurance that would cover your car. It may be possible to ask your employer to cover your deductible, however, they will likely not do so since after all, it was your negligence that caused the accident.

I hope this helps
