Auto Insurance Claims: girlfriends insurance company sueing me., insurance company, girlfriend

Question
I was driving my girlfriends car June,08 when I was involved in an accident. I was charged with impaired, my trial has been delayed until Jan,10. I wrote off my girlfriends car to the value of about $13,000. The insurance company paid herlast September,08. My girlfriend gave me permission to drive, knowing I had some drinks. The insurance company have now obtained a Lawyer to recover the costs from me. I am not sure why they are expecting recovery when she gave me permission to drive her car. What can I do?

Answer
Hi Robert,

You should call the attorney and ask him why they are suing you considering you had permission to drive. If they giv you a reasonable answer (and even if they don't) you should seek the advice of an attorney. You will likely need to hire an attorney to defend you.

I hope this helps
