Auto Insurance Claims: Auto Accident Question, lower back injuries, personal injury attorney

Question
Hi Richard,

I had 2 auto accidents two years ago and am now in the demand letter process- I'm seeking help in making sure I fully understand my rights as to my demand settlement.
The first accident I was rear ended violently by a Nurses Assistant to held a Commercial Insurance in Florida which I sustained lower back injury and started seeking treatment.  A month later I was rear ended by a County School Bus and sustained upper and more lower back injuries as well.  I have been seeing specialist, however, since the accidents moved into another county with less providers and have had to refer my services to an Orthopedic Specialist who provides me with pain killers for my back.  I have experienced numbness going down my legs and things of that nature.  I am being told that now since we are in the demand stages of the claims that each insurance company could start pointing fingers at each other and it can take some time for any settlement to be offered.  I have 2 Herniated Disc Bulging my nerve and that is what is causing the numbness.  Can you advise me how you would handle a case like mind and also what kind of settlement offer could be made?

Answer
Hi Maggie,

To answer your question properly would require an indepth analysis of your complete situation which I can not do in the medium.

It is correct that the insurance companies will try to point fingers at each other and prolong the process. Considering the type of injuries you have and the possible need for extended treatment, I think you should seek the services of a personal injury attorney. They will be able to provide a detailed review of of your file and help you achieve the best possible settlement from both companies.

I hope this helps
