Auto Insurance Claims: insurance claim, better business bureau, insurance claim

Question
My son was in a auto accident as a passenger.  He had to have a piece of steel removed from his knee and had some back pain for several months. The insurance company is offering a settlement of $3,200.  Should we accept this offer?

Answer
Hi Steve,

There are many factors that determine a reasonable settlement. However, based on your brief information I think this should be worth 3 to 4 times to total of all of the medical bills.

You should take a look at a website www.collisionwizard.com . It is produced by the Better Business Bureau Video Series. It has a claim calculator that will help you determine a reasonable range for your sons claim. It also has the ability to help you assemble a demand package and letter to help you negotiate the claim.

I hope this helps
