Auto Insurance Claims: auto, California time limits / first party

my vehicle was in fire.siu is investigating me. how long is it suppose to take before i receive my check.i dont have a problem with them investigating me. i gave them all documents and statements. whats the longest they can investigate me.

When you first file a claim, they have 40 days to accept or deny it.  If they need more time, they have to request it at least every 30 days beginning when the 40 days expires.

Unfortunately, there is no ultimate time limit.  They can investigate the claim so long as there is still something to investigate.  Your job would be to file a breach of contract suit if it gets unreasonable.
