Auto Insurance Claims: Auto Insurance Claim, auto insurance claim, own insurance

Our daughter was recently driving our Astro Van (insured by us through State Farm, liability only).  She has her own insurance on the same van, Allstate (full coverage).  She was at fault in an accident which totalled the vehicle.  What can we expect from Allstate insofar as their responsibility or is it a State Farm matter?  She is not listed on our State Farm policy.

Hi Stephen,

You should not have two different insurance policies on the same vehicle. However, regardles of that, if the van is totaled the claim should be put through Allstate since the State Farm policy has no collision coverage.
