Auto Insurance Claims: Rear Ended, own insurance, san francisco bay area

Question
I was involved in an auto accident where I was determined to be at fault. My insurance company paid me $1200 for repairs which I never fixed. I was rearended a week ago i almost the same spot. How is the insurance company going to pay for damages? I need to repair my car this time.

Answer
Hi Shantel,
The insurance company will inspect the car to determine the portion of your damage that is 'old damage' and the portion that is new damage.  They will only pay for the new damage.
If you are dealing with your own insurance company, the records from your old accident are still available to them and the will know the exact amount of old damage to be deducted.

I hope this information is helpful.
Your feedback by rating my answer will be appreciated.
