Auto Insurance Claims: Auto Damage, hail damage, collision claims

Question
While my Insurance adjuster was checking my autos for hail damage, she opened my truck door and proceed to release the parking break instead of popping the hood. My truck rolled down my drive way and hit my car. Now I have 4 hail claims and 2 collision claims. They have taken full responsibility for the damage on the two. Although I feel they are moving slow. My question is about diminished value once the two are fixed. Is this something I need to bring up now or wait until they're fixed? Is it an option?  Does diminished value apply to the hail damage too?

Answer
Hi Trish,

Unless you live in the state of Georgia you can not collect diminished value from your own insurance company from a hail claim.

As far as diminished value from the collision, it would depend on the extent of the damage. If the damage to either vehicle is greater than $2000.00 then you may have a claim for diminished value.

I hope this helps
