Auto Insurance Claims: how to claim a second damage on a total-loss car, salvage title, volvo s70

Question
My Volvo S70 was rear-ended by someone early last month.  The car is perfectly driveable but was still determined to be a total-loss.  I got the cash and decided to repair the cosmetic damage and change it to a salvage title.  Yesterday, this car was hit again by another person. The repairment might cost 1000 dollars.  I don't know what that person's insurance company will do on this already total-loss car.  The value of this car is said to be only $600 after the first accident.

Answer
Hi Tony-

It sounds like you are either having some bad luck or are driving your car in the demolition derby on your days off (just kidding of course).

My understanding is that when a car has a salvaged title, they will cover up to the salvaged value.  In this case they won't give you more than $600 if that's what they say it's worth with a salvaged title.

I guess the good news is that there is no such thing as a double salvaged title, so the value of your car will remain the same if you decide to fix it again.
