Auto Insurance Claims: Liability, bristol west, policy language

Question
Husband backed into wife's vehicle, parked in their driveway. Husband has a policy with State Farm and the wife's vehicle is insured with Bristol West. State Farm is denying coverage based upon language stating the husband cannot be liable for damage to " property " owned by a resident relative. However, the wife is the owner of her car and pays a separate premium to a different carrier. Is that enough separation to allow State Farm to pay for the damage to the wife's car? Thank you.

Answer
Scott,

I'm sorry for the delay, I have been on vacation in an area with no cell signal or internet access!  Okay. . . .

The policy language governs, so if the policy limits the liability the way State Farm claims, then they can deny the claim.  Simply put, this one requires me to see the policy.  Feel free to look me up directly on the net if you want to discuss.  Information is always free at Petty Details, LLC!
