Auto Insurance Claims: storage fees, storage fees, calim

Question
I have recently had my car damaged by a mechanic when it went in for repairs. The car was then moved to a garage the mechanic called(which I thought was a certified garage through his insurance).Come to find out it was a personal friend. The car has been sitting there over a month and the garage is avoiding fixing the car. Whenever myself or the insurance calls it's always something different from it will be done in a week to the next the parts are not ordered. I then received a call saying they were refusing to fix it, to come and get it and then said i was liable for storage fees. The rental car is being paid by the insurance who is now claiming it 's longer then normal. the auto body is refusing to release my car but also refusing to fix it . Who is liable?

Answer
Hi Angel,

You need to stop leaving things up to the garage who damaged the vehicle. You need to select a body shop thay YOU want to repair the vehicle. Thel them to send a tow truck to get your car and they will pay the storage bill. You need to demand from the garage's insurance company a statement in writing that they have accepted 100% liability and will pay for all costs associated with the damage to your car. If they will not provide that then you need to file a calim on your own insurance to get your vehicle repaired and they will fight with the other insurance company to get reimbursed.

I hope this helps
