Auto Insurance Claims: permissive driver hit, differance, liability insurance

Question
I was droppping my girlfriend off at work in her car and was struck. She has liability insurance on her car under her name. I am not insured, but I guess I'm a permissable driver. We proceeded to turn left from a suicide lane into a parking lot accross a 3 lane road because traffic had stopped to let us through. When we entered the 3rd lane we were struck on our cars right side.
Who is usually at fault? and does the "permissable driver" make a differance in this case?

Answer
Hi Josh,

Unfortunately, anytime you turn left across traffic and are hit by oncomming traffic, it will be considered your fault.

As long as you do not live in your girlfriends household you should be covered.

I hope this helps
