Auto Insurance Claims: no parking zone accident, parking zone, stationary object

My boyfriend was in a private property parking lot and back up out of his spot and hit a lady. She was parked facing wrong way on the wrong side and in a no parking zone. It was at night and she had no lights on. Who would be at fault or is it a no fault both pay their own problems?

Hi Jenny,

Even though she may have been parked illegally, if she was standing still it will be considered to be your boyfriends fault. Whenever you hit a stationary object it is considered to be your fault.
