Auto Insurance Claims: doubt about the hit, pizza deliverer, pizza store

Question
my boyfriend was involved in a car accident. he delivered a pizza to a customer's house.he was reversing from the carport and there was another car parking on the left side of my boyfriend's carpot.and there was one person stand on the left side behind that car. my boyfriend was reversing, and driving onto the driveway and gone.but 10 minutes later, a lady called the pizza store and claimed that there was a car hit hers and she had a witness who said he saw that it was a pizza deliverer and because my boyfriend was the only one who went that area. so he went to the police station and filled out the form. but actually he heard and felt nothing wrong when he was reversing and the lady blamed him that it was his fault and he ran away. there is definitely no damage no mark on my boyfriend's car and he did not hit anything when reversing. my boyfriend's car doesn't have any insurance.what will happen next? will the insurance company call us? if we doubt it, will the company come to check it or directly send it to the court? and what can we do now?
thank you

Answer
Hi Cilla,

There are two problems here: (1) can he prevail to defend the allegation that he hit the car? and (2) is anyone going to report him for lack of insurance?

As for #1, get a camera and take all kinds of photos of your boyfriend's car and take them to the the pizza store so that the boss does not think ill of your boyfriend.  Take them also to the police.  Have both the pizza store and the police look at his vehicle.

THAT would put an end to it.  Don't offer them a dime.  They should be investigated for attempted fraud.  I will bet that they had recent damage and did not want to report it to their own company because of the high deductible.  The repairs will exceed their deductible, hence they will not get it repaired and hence there will be no call from their insurance company.  Just my hunch.

Get a copy of the police report or ask them the identification of the car he allegedly hit, and ask if they have inspected it or taken photos.  Tell them to accompany you to take the photos.  I think that there will be no marks of paint from your boyfriend's car.

As for #2, let's hope no one reports your boyfriend on having no insurance.  If they do, then write me back and I will tell you what is coming next.  If he were insured, I would have him tell the police that he wants to make a complaint versus the lady for attempted insurance fraud.  But for now we will leave that for another day.

Best wishes,
