Auto Insurance Claims: compensation for the loss of use of our truck, san francisco bay area, insurance company

Question
I was in an auto accident last Friday.  The other party is at fault.  The auto is not driveable.  We have not rented a car because we have another vehicle.  The other vehicle uses alot more gas.  Even if we do not have the at fault partys insurance company rent us a vehicle are we entitled to receive compensation for the loss of use of the damaged vehicle?  If so, how do I go about asking about this to the insurance company.

Answer
Hi Lynn,
The adverse insurance company is only liable for actual losses.  If you do not actually rent a replacement vehicle, you have suffered no loss other than inconvenience.
The adverse company does not pay you for inconvenience.
Therefore, you are not entitled to any compensation.
I hope this has been of help.  Pleas write again if I can be of assistance.
Sincerely,
Bennie
