UK Car Repair: rover 216 kac, rover 216, dash light

i have had alot of problems with key fob etc on my rover 216 si 1996.
i got the key access code for it and put it in and the dash light went out.as soon as i open the door it comes on again.what can i do

Hello, the security systems can be complicated. does everything else work?  All I can suggest is setting the lock procedure, this usually is done by using the regular key to lock the car, then, keeping the key in the lock position, operate lock on the remote. Now do the same for unlock.  Good luck.
