Auto Insurance Claims: Additional questions, better business bureau, insurance adjuster

Question
I am grateful for any words of wisdom you can provide.  I sent in a question on August 18th (cervical disc: was the start of the caption) and the reponse I got was very helpful.  I just received the insurance companies settlement offer today and I am outraged.  I knew the inital offer would be low but had no idea it would be that low.  Maybe it is standard yet has left me feeling slapped in the face.  I was wondering how to reply to the insurance company if their offer comes nowhere near what I feel is fair.  I have decided the lowest amount I would settle for and their offer falls about $50,000 short.  I understand you do not have all the details on my claim and hate to take too much of your time.  Before I go off the handle I'm looking for a professional way to react to their offer.  Thank you for your time

Answer
Hi Beth,

It seems that the job of an insurance adjuster is to slap people in the face with low ball offers.

I'm not sure what the actual value of your claim is ow how you came to an amount, however, I would recommend you look at a website www.collisionwizard.com

This website is part of the Better Business Bureau Video Series. You can register to use the site for free. It will let you input information about your injury, treatments etc and will recommend a settlement figure. The system also has sample letters and other helpful information.

I hope this helps
