Auto Insurance Claims: shopping for insurance, new insurance, license numbers

Question
I am currently shopping for a new insurance carrier. I get a rate and once I put in license numbers it shows my husband has had two accidents in 2005. He only had one. How do I find out details on the other date and what do I do if in fact that is not true and there really only is one accident. As you know this makes a huge difference in price. Thank you so much for any help you could give.

Answer
Hi Beth,

You should contact your State Driver Licence Department. You will want to obtain a 3 year driver record. Once you have this you will be able to see all of the information that it contains. If there are any errors, the drivers license should be able to tell you how you can contest the information.

I hope this helps
