Auto Insurance Claims: dealing with insurance companies, rental coverage, state trooper

Question
i was recently in an accident where the other driver struck me from behind a state trooper was sent out to the scene and everything was explained to him but he did not issue the driver a ticket i drove the car home and called his insurance immediately and made a claim the had me take it to be inspected and took pictures and i explained to them the truck now has a vibration and is not safe to drive but they say i have to wait till they contact the other driver and get confirmation of fault before they will pay for a rental what should or what can i do???

Answer
Hi Steve,

You can go ahead and rent a car, then have them reimburse you once they accept liability. Or, if you have rental coverage on your own policy, you can put the claim their and get a rental car that way.  There is nothing you can do to make them pay until their investigation is complete.

I hope this helps
