Auto Insurance Claims: moved, changed car registration but not insurance policy, auto pay, texas insurance

Question
Hi,
I recently moved to California from Texas and my car was stolen two days ago. I changed my car registration approximately three weeks ago but not my insurance. I was on an auto-pay system and my Texas insurance was renovated automatically for another month, so I was stuck with it until the end of November. Will this alone be enough reason for the company to reject my claim?
Thanks,
GR

Answer
HI Gabo,

Generally, you are required to notify your insurance company within 30 days of a change of address. If it is a large insurance company that covers people in Texas & California, there should be no problem. However thay may change your address retroactive to when you moved and charge any additional premium that would have been due.

I hope this helps
