Land Rover Repair: Misfire on a 02 Discovery II, coil pack, cold engine

Question
Starting from cold engine runs and performs fine. After reaching normal operating temp at certain speeds 80 to 100 kph with light accelerator setting the engine misfires. Feels like the engine is fluttering and there is a vibration through the car.  If you accellerate hard the engine changes down a gear, picks up immediately and the misfire disappears Only to return again once you have gone back into high gear and settled back to 80/100 KPH with the light accelerator setting Below that speed the engine is fine and above it is fine.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as the daelers are talking mega bucks to replace the injectors.

Answer
The dealer could be right, it could be an injector problem.  It could also be sticking valves, a failing coil pack, spark plugs, or wires.

You're going to need to hook the truck to the LR test system and see what's going wrong.  Anything else is just a guess.  I can't advise you about using a particular dealer or independent for this . . . you have to search out a competent shop.
