Auto Insurance Claims: Tree and another persons car, car buff, relationship issues

Question
A tree on my property fell onto my mother in law's antique auto which I was keeping in my garage.  I drove the car out of the garage and while outside the garage a tree fell.  A total loss.  She only had libility insurance, I have full coverage on my vehicle.  Who's auto insurance (if any)is responsible for the damages?

Thank you

Answer
Geez, I'm sorry to hear about that, especially as I'm an old car buff.

The only auto insurance that would apply here is the coverage that was, or in this case, wasn't on that car.
As far as your homeowners insurance is concerned, it would only apply if your negligence led to the tree falling.  One example would be if you were cutting it down and it fell the wrong way or if you were aware that it was sick, may fall, but took no action to have it removed.  Even if that were the case though, it's also possible that the garaging and relationship issues would prevent a claim, depending on the policy language.
