Auto Insurance Claims: Automobile Insurance Claim, 29 palms california, automobile insurance claim

Question
Hello. I am in the military and I am stationed in 29 Palms California, the tip of the Mojave desert. Our weather is frequented with high heat and out of no where blowing sand storms.
I have a 1997 Camaro SS, which is in exceptional condidion. Although, the frequent blowing sands have taken a toll on the windshield and is taking a worse toll on the paint job. The car is a 30th anniversary with the limited white paint job with orange stripes.
As for my insurance, I have had continous coverage while I have been in the US. While I was deployed, I cancelled my insurance and the car was stored indoors. I now once again have insurance, full coverage through USAA. This however is my first time with them. I have been with progressive for the past 2 years, and Nationwide prior to that.
So, exactly what can I do to get my insurance comp to cover repainting my car?
Thanks
Todd

Answer
I seriously doubt you will be successful in presenting any claim and for several reasons.....

Your paint has been eroded over time.. during which time you have had no insurance, multiple carriers, and the loss (if we can call it that) has occurred over time.

Don't know if exposure to blowing sand is a covered peril as defined in your policy.

The biggest problem though is that with every sand scenario/storm you have an "occurence" and each one triggers a claim and a deductible.... multiple occurences result in multiple deductibles.

Lastly, paint is a depreciable item... you will not get a fresh paint job (if there is coverage to start with) but rather a depreciation situation that will be based on the age and condition of the present paint job.

I fear that when all is said and done that you will find that you have no claim or can expect to see any $$ from any claim(s).

Hope and trust that the above answers your question.

Please take the time to rate this resonse in the various catagories.
