Auto Insurance Claims: stolen car, ford f350, speedy answer

Question
Had car stolen in Tucson AZ on Friday night and reported as soon as I noticed it missing on Saturday.  Filed police report and they said it was probably already in Mexico.  Had to get back to work on Monday so I had to take a flight back to Temple TX on Sunday.  The police called and said that they found it on Sunday evening and said that it was DRIVE ABLE.  Don't quite know what that means yet.  The persons that stole it apparently got in some how, (slim Jim maybe, don't know yet) and broke the lock on the steering column and started it by using a screw driver.  They (coyotes) used it to pick up and transport illegal aliens and took all the tools out of the tool box, which was locked.  The police officer told brother-in-law (lives in Tucson) that other then scratched up it was clean.  My question now is...I am now in Texas and the truck is in Arizona and the insurance company wants to make a decision as to whether or not the truck is drivable.  If it is not, they want to make all repairs made in one shop in Arizona.  They say they will warranty the work 100% but I will have to return it to that shop to get the warranty covered if something is not right.  I want them to make the absolute necessary repairs so that I can get it back to where I am and then get the remainer of the repairs done to my satisfaction, ex. paint soforth.  Brother in law said that they will drive it back down to us.  So...what are my rights.  Thank you for your speedy answer.  2000 Ford F350 dually extended cab.   No repairs have ever been made to it...in mint condition only 46000 miles

Answer
Suggest you "work" with your insurance compnay to agree on a plan of action that is equitable to both sides.

If you can get the car back to TX without it costing your insurance company anything or next to anything I do not see where they should have a problem with that.

Don't expect your compnay to pay a sizeable tow bill or pay more to repair the car in TX then they can get it repaired for in AZ.

Your point about the "warranted repairs" is well taken and should be a bargaining chip when you work out you understanding with your company.

Hope and trust that the above answers your questions.
