Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 99 merc sable air conditioning problems, hash marks, exit test

i just recharged my air last month and its been working fine and today i went to turn it on and it will not blow out the regular front vents like its post to the air is blowing out the top vents by the windshield and its not cold could you tell me what caused this to happen

Does this system have automatic or manual AC controls?  

If automatic try this...


1. At the EATC control, perform a self test by pushing the Off and Floor buttons simultaneously, releasing and immediately pushing and releasing the Auto button. If a code 025 is displayed indicating a memory code for a faulty BDA, push the defrost button to clear code and exit test.

Successful entry of a self test will be indicated by hash marks moving around the screen. After about 1 minute, a 3 digit code will appear. An 888 indicates system passed. Any other code in the system will cause a default to maximum heat until fault is repaired and the memory is cleared.
