Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 2003 Cavalier AC problem, chevy cavalier, excessive air

Question
Hi Wayne: I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier with an AC problem.
When I'm moving at 40 or above in 5th gear, it seems to work fine.
As soon as I stop in traffic or just running at a low speed, it comes out warm. I had the compressor replaced and had the system checked for leaks. The cooling fan does switch on as it should.
I'm at a loss as to why it's doing this and my mechanic doesn't seen to be able to find the problem. Any ideas?
Thank you very much for your time Wayne!

Answer
Hello, Sorry for late reply, its the long weekend!

We need to find out why excessive air flow over the condenser is needed to radiate the heat off the condenser and the fan is not capable of doing this in traffic.

Air conditioning is a balance of physics.  There is always a trade off somewhere.

Lets start at the beginning.   Are you absolutely positive that the system is not overcharged?  Was the system purged and vaccumed for half an hour before charged with new refrigerant?  Is it a blend or R134A that is being used?  If it is over charged or there is ambient air int he system this is the EXACT symptoms you will get.
