Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: blower motor, auto parts stores, auto parts store

Question
QUESTION: I need to relace the blower motor on my 1992 buick century wagon. The one on my car has 2 eletrical connector & a rubber hose. The one from the auto parts store has only 1 electrical connector.

ANSWER: HI Jesse

If the one you have on the car has both the electrical side by side then they gave you the wrong blower.  If yours has one electrical on a rubber piece and the other on a  the other on a bronze connector then you can remove the bronze connector and install on the new blower.  But I think they just gave you the wrong part.

QUESTION: The one on my car does have both connector next to each other. The one on the left has only 1 wire, the one on the right has 2 wires. The rubber hose is at about 5 o'clock. There are no clamps holding the hose,it just pops in a hole on the motor. The other end goes into the fire wall.I have been to 3 auto parts stores and they all list the motor with 1 terminal as the replacement for my car.

Answer
The rubber hose is ok.  All blowers must have two cables, the positive (Red or Orange) has a small boot that will go to the one you have on the blower.  The second wire should be black and that one need to be attached to the blower housing ground the blower so it will run.  Usually the
the ground could be taken off the old blower and installed on the new one.  If you still have the problem get the vin number and call the dealer to get the correct part number.
