Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: A/C repair, chevy silverado, control signals

Question
I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 single cab with a v6 engine.  The A/C will NOT stop running.  Even if the vehicle is turned off, the A/C keeps running.  It is killing my battery.  I've tried removing the fuses, the power cable from the compressor, and the dial inside the cab of the truck.  The A/C keeps running. I'm mechanically inclined, but I can't get this thing to stop.  I'm having to removed the battery cable every time I park...  How do I get my A/C to turn off!!???

Answer
Hi Clay

You need to check something for me.  First check power at the compressor green cable.  Next disconnect the cycle switch at the accumulator and check the power again at the compressor green cable.  If you have power remove the relay and check again.  If you do not have power reinstall switch and disconnect relay and check power at compressor again.  If no power then check for ground at the relay.  You must check ground with control on and then with control off.  If control signals are correct then replace relay.  This should solve your problem.  Let me know in detail what you find and I will help.
