Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 1995 Chrysler Concorde, 1995 chrysler concorde, chrysler concorde

Question
I bought a 1995 Concorde from friend back in April 2009. The lady had it for 7 years and put about 2,000 miler per year on it.

The R134 a/c seemed to work fine a first but then when the weather got hotter I noticed that when I first started the car that the a/c would blow but not cold air.

Circumstances became so that I noticed that when I drove for some distance, turned it off for a short while, then restarted the car the a/c would cool just perfectly.

The friend called me about 2 months later and asked if I was having a/c problems and told me to do just what I had been doing to get the a/c to cool. She says she used to pray for a red light so she could stop and re-start the car.

Some local *experts* have decided that it is the low pressure switch (or sensor) and want me to jump the sensor.

What do you think? Could low refrigerant cause this or something more labor and money intensive?

Answer
Hi Pam

Make sure it is the low pressure switch it should have only 2 wires,  If the switch has three wires DO NOT JUMP One wire goes directly to the PCM and you may damage it.   Not sure  what you mean when you say you turn it off and then it starts again.  Do you start the car and then the ac and it will not work or do you start ac and turn it off and then on and it starts.  If you turn the engine off and then it starts. First you need to see if your compressor is starting the first time you start the engine or only on the second time you restart.  Let me know.
