Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: air cond dual control, linkage problem, air cond

Question
Hi I have a SILVERADO 2003 3500, with dual manual slide climate control, I have checked with an analyzer and I am sure the mixing door for the passenger side has a linkage problem since the analyzer says everything is calling for the door to move to cool but it blows hot,and if I run the fan on low it blows semi cool air as I speed up the fan it blows hotter and hotter, my question is where would the linkage for the passenger mixing door be located and how to get to it I think the passenger side mixing door is on the drivers side under the dash and do you know does the entire under dash

Answer
Larry,
It appears that part of your question was cut off before I received it. The last portion that I received was "and do you know does the entire under dash" and it got cut off.
As for your passenger side blend door... it will be located on the evaporator/heater core housing itself. Both of your doors are located there, just operated independently. This housing is located under the dash on the passenger side of the vehicle.
From your description, I would have to agree with your diagnosis. It sounds as though your actuator is not opening the door entirely, if at all. On your vehicle, the most likely (nothing guaranteed, I'm working through a computer) cause for this would be your passenger side air temperature actuator. In order to replace this you will need to remove your instrument panel insulator panel. You will also need to reprogram/calibrate the actuators. If you need any assistance when you get to this point, I will be happy to help.

Thank you for your question, I hope I was of some assistance. If I can do more to assist either now or in the future, please do not hesitate to ask. If you found this answer at all helpful, please remember to rate this answer. Thanks again and good luck in everything.
