Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager, plymouth grand voyager, grand voyager

Question
The air in the front is cold like it should be. The blower behind the passenger seat blows warm.  The control has to be turn off, so the front can cool off the back of the van.

Answer
Gary,
Your van has two separate evaporators, one in the front and one in the rear. Anytime that the rear does not blow cool, while the front does, the first check that needs to be made is your refrigerant charge. If your system is low, it would act exactly as described.

Another possibility is that your rear blend door is not opening as it should. Your blend door is what seperates the heat from the heater core and the cold from the evaporator. If this allows the path from the heater core to be open even the llittlest bit, the heat from the heater core will overpower and cancel out the cool air that should be blowing.

And I do not want to insult your intelligence at all, but you would be amazed at some of the things we see... so I have to ask to possibly prevent you alot of pain. Double check where you have the setting at. On most vehicles they have a separate control in the rear for the rear.

Thank you for the question, I hope I was of some assistance. If I can do anything further during this process, or in the future, please do not hesitate to ask. If you found this response to be of some assistance, please remember to rate this answer. Thanks again and good luck in everything.
