Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: installed new heater core, ford aerostar, heater core

Question
i installed a new heater core in 1989 ford aerostar.not much heat comming out .how do i tell if my hoses are on right? can i switch them around to see what happens? i got 4 helpers at my feet helping.cant afford to mess it up               thank you  v6 3.0

I KNOW, You did NOT mark them BEFORE you took them OFF, RIGHT ?.

They USUALLY have arrows embedded on the tubes of the heater core showing flow direction.

If memeory SERVES, The tube closest to the passengers door goes to the radiator of the water pump LOWER fitting and the other to either the intake manifold fitting or the TOP fitting on the water pump.
