Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 97 Grand Voyager Evaporator Replacement, plymouth grand voyager, powerpoint package

Question
I have a 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE, 3.3, Front Wheel Drive, dual zone air conditioning. I need to replace the evaporator core. I know the dashboard needs to come out, and I have most of the plastics off already from the lower dash and the instrument panel. I understand the the upper dash and perhaps the steering wheel must also be removed to gain access to the HVAC control box (which is located just to the right of the center of the vehicle against the firewall. I cannot find any information or diagrams on this porcess and I want to try to finish the job myself (well, I can't exactly afford to pay someone right now) so can you help me wit the rest of the process? Instructions...diagrams...anything. I can see the darned thing through the hole for the temp sensor. This is an engineering abortion...clearly Chrysler wanted people to return to the dealer for this VERY costly repair...HELP (please)!

Answer
Paul,
I feel your pain. Not since the mid 70's has a vehicle came off the assembly line that the auto makers did not mind us fixing ourselves. I just wish the engineer who designed these vehicles would have to work on them just once or twice. They did their job of fitting everything together nice and tight very well... in turn making ours so much harder.
I would be glad to send you any instructions I have from my online repair manual service that may make this an easier job. But I cannot do it through here. Allexperts.com has not made it so that we can post any pictures or figures or anything of the sort as of yet. If you can send me an email address in a follow-up to this question, I will put together what I can and send it in a powerpoint package. (My online service doesn't allow me to cut and paste, so I have to print screen and paste the picture of that) If you decide you want me to do this, as I said send me an email address, and mark the follow-up as PRIVATE so your address does not get out to the world.

Thank you for your question, I hope I was of some assistance. If so, please remember to rate this answer. If I can do anything further either now in this process or in the future, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you again and good luck in everything.
