Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 1997 Ford Taurus No A/C, 1997 ford taurus, uv dye

Question
The a/c blows hot air.  So I figured it would have to be recharged.  I got the one with the gauge for pressure on it.  I start charging it, and the a/c starts clicking on and off, and when that is happening, i can see on the gauge that its fluctuating when that happens.  We have had to refill it last summer and it was fine.  The repair shop said they didn't find any leaks, and its been fine until now.  Do I just need to keep adding the freon, because i didn't add a lot of it?

Answer
Tom,

Yeah, you can keep refilling but getting the leak repaired is the best solution. If your going to keep refilling it I recommend charging it with the freon with the uv detection dye and buying the uv goggle and light kit and checking it on a regular basis. I'm not sure why the shop was unable to find the leak, possibly a small leak but with the uv dye in the system you have a better chance finding it especially now that your using the a/c more often.
