Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 99 chysler concorde lxi, auto parts store, chysler

Question
The ac blows but no cool air. I have added freon and still no change. Is there a sensor I need to replace?

Answer
Tim,

I wouldn't worry about a sensor, first thing I would make sure the compressor is working by listening for the audible click on and off to make it is cycling. Then if that is working I would check the system with the a/c manifold gauge for proper pressures and proper pressure would be for the low side 96 psi at 85 degrees fahrenheit and on the high side about 250 psi. You can find an a/c manifold gauge at most auto parts store for about $70 if you don't have one. If you don't want to purchase on you can do a quick check by feeling the low side hose coming out of the evaporator and see if it is cold and then feel the high side line and see if it is warm that is the sign of a normally operating system. Check those things and let me know and I will happy to answer anymore questions you have.
